Standard 1: A physically literate individual demonstrates competency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns.
Our youth training camps promote a variety of motor skills and movement patterns as camp goers learn proper mechanics to increase their overall range of motion through demonstration, 1:1 mobility support and repetition to create muscle memory.
Standard 2: A physically literate individual applies knowledge of concepts, principles, strategies and tactics related to movement and performance.
Camp goers are able to apply their knowledge during a variety of fun filled games that promote teamwork, collaboration and overall skill development.
Standard 3: A physically literate individual demonstrates the knowledge and skills to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical activity and fitness.
An emphasis is placed on overall wellness in addition to physical activities each camp is accompanied by an educational theme that supports and promotes the overall development of the child and teaches them the importance of healthy lifestyle choices and nutrition.
Standard 4: A physically literate individual exhibits responsible, personal and social behavior that respects self and others.
Respect for oneself and others is an area of focus for our program. A Lot of the activities involved personal responsibility as well as team/group based responsibilities. Camp goers are often tasked with group responsibilities that require each individual to perform a portion of that task in order to achieve the final goal. This promotes collaboration amongst the kids and creates a community of trust and commodore.
Standard 5: A physically literate individual recognizes the value of physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression and/or social interaction.
Due to the nature of our program and its focus on physical education, health, enjoyment, challenge, self expression and social interaction happen every time our program meets. We tailor activities to the camp goers ability to challenge them when we know they can do more and support them when they need an extra hand. We help kids find their spark and love for whatever aspect of our program is their favorite and we nurture that with the support of camp staff and parents. We create a safe space for kids of all backgrounds to be themselves and have a 0 tolerance for bullying of any sort.
